Shariah supervision
IMB is run under the supervision of Islamic scholars. Its founding chairman, Mufti Mamunur Rashid Qasemee, is the chief mufti of Markazush Shariah Al-Islamiyah Bangladesh, Dhaka. Every policy on marriage, every member commitment and every difficult family question is decided in the light of the Shariah.
What the office team does
The office team checks every application by hand, meets grooms in person (video call for those abroad), verifies documents and answers members' questions. Only staff assigned to a task may see members' personal details, and every staff member passes two-step verification (an authenticator code) to sign in.
What we do
Shariah-based matchmaking, an orderly process from a first to a fourth marriage, help for widows and women in need to marry, written fatwas, and personal and family counselling. See the Activities page.
