Questions & Answers
Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers to what people usually ask before registering with IMB.
General
What exactly is IMB?+
IMB is not a typical matchmaking office. It's a Shariah-compliant matrimonial and consultation platform run under the supervision of Ulama, matching applicants for first (Waheda), second (Masna), third (Sulasa), and fourth (Rubaa) marriage — with real human review at every step.
How does profile verification work?+
Every application goes through a real interview with our team. Photos, NID, and CV are checked by staff. An applicant in Bangladesh visits our office in person to finalize membership; an expat is verified by video call, booked as a time slot from the dashboard. Nothing is auto-approved.
Is my personal information kept private?+
Yes. Photos are given only by male applicants and are never public; no photo is taken from women. Full contact details are shared only after our team mediates an introduction, never automatically.
Can I have my data deleted?+
Yes, at any time — submit a request from your dashboard or at /account/delete-request. Our team reviews and processes each request manually, including removing your uploaded documents.
What if I suspect a fake or dishonest profile?+
Use the "Report this profile" button shown on every candidate card while browsing. Our team reviews every report.
Can I pay by bKash, Nagad, or bank transfer instead of card?+
Yes — the checkout page takes bKash, Nagad, Rocket, cards and bank payments through SSLCommerz. There is no separate number to send money to; you get a receipt right away.
Specific to You
What's the registration fee for men?+
৳2,040 for Bangladeshi applicants; ৳5,100 for expats (verification is by video call, hence the higher fee) — a one-time, lifetime fee, payable online or in person.
Can expats join fully online?+
Yes. The form, document upload, fee payment and verification can all be done from abroad. Expats are verified by video call: after applying you book a video-call slot from your dashboard and our team calls you at that time to finish verification. The expat registration fee is higher: ৳5,100 (Bangladeshi applicants pay ৳2,040).
If I live in Bangladesh, do I really have to visit the office in person?+
Yes. An applicant in Bangladesh visits our Dhaka office in person at least once to confirm membership — it is a deliberate trust gate, not a formality. Book an office-visit slot from your dashboard. For an expat applicant this is replaced by the video call.
Can I have more than 4 wives at once?+
No — Shariah permits a maximum of 4 wives concurrently. Marrying multiple times over a lifetime (with each marriage ending or continuing per Shariah) is a separate matter and not restricted the same way.
I haven't fully met my current wife's rights — can I still apply for a second marriage?+
IMB does not guide or facilitate a second marriage for men who haven't fulfilled their first wife's rights, don't intend to act justly between wives, lack the capacity for an additional marriage, or want to marry in secret. This path isn't for everyone, and we take that seriously.
